Where to Start? Series - IT Cosmetics

23 February 2016

If any of you remember back in 2014, I wanted to start a make-up series called "Where to Start?" and the first edition was Benefit (here's the link to the old post). If you don't remember, "Where to Start?" is a series that features a specific make-up brand and their items that would be great starters if you haven't tried that brand.

Lately, I have been waiting to venture out more in the make-up world and try more brands that are foreign to me.  One of the brands I have been exploring lately is IT Cosmetics.  IT Cosmetics is a fairly new beauty brand that started in 2008 by Jamie Kern Lima.  Jamie worked with plastic surgeons to create a cosmetics line that offer clinically proven, innovative problem-solving makeup and skin care products.  Their mission is to empower you through confidence in your skin, makeup, and you own beauty.  Love!

Three of the products that I have tried, love, and think would make great starters are the Brow Power eyebrow pencil, the Bye Bye Under Eye, and Bye Bye Redness.  The Brow Power eyebrow pencil is your standard eyebrow pencil, but the difference between this pencil and other pencils is that it is a universal color.  This may sound odd but it really can work on a variety of brow shades as its completely build-able.  It's definitely a great alternative to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz.

Another universal product is the Bye Bye Redness, which is a color correcting cream that cancels out redness.  This stuff is amazing and a definitely must if you have redness in your skin. I use this stuff before I put on my foundation and it really helps cancel out the red that is around my nose and cheeks.  I don't know how this will work on different skin tones as it's a beige color so it may be too dark for light skin. It does blend very easily so I am assuming that is how it can work for lighter skin.

Lastly is the Bye Bye Under Eye which is another amazing product.  It's this super thick concealer that offers full coverage for those pesky dark circles.  It blends very easily and definitely covers under the eye but I would recommend setting this with powder, like the Ben Nye or Anastasia Beverly Hills Banana Powder, as it can crease easily.

Based on trying these three products, I am excited to try more from IT Cosmetics especially their brushes and skincare.  Have you tried any IT Cosmetics yet? What are your favorite?

Sunday Sips

24 January 2016

I love tea. I have an entire cupboard loaded with the stuff. And one of my favorite things to do is enjoy being home, sitting in my kitchen, drinking a cup of tea. I'd like to share some of that time with you along with some of my other favorites of the month.

Tea
• This month I'm loving Lipton Black Tea. I don't drink coffee, but still need caffine in the mornings. I mean, I'm only human after all.

Lacquer
• Grey all day, and all month.  I've been wearing Essie's "Master Plan" non-stop.

Song
• "Middle" by DJ Snake
My friend Carol played this in her car while we were out running errands and I immediately added it to my Spotify playlist.

Jewelry
• These super slim silver stacking rings are so versatile.  You can wear them all on one finger, or one on each finger.

What have been some of  your favorites this month?

Happy New Year!

05 January 2016

New Year's is the perfect time to start something new, or to restart something. Erica and I have always loved this blog and our little company, but life gets crazy and we can't always put as much time into it as we'd like. Well, in 2016 we hope to get the ball rolling again. We're looking to work on new photo shoots, diy's, some recipes, and general lifestyle projects.

We want to thank our friends and family for their support so far, so thank you! We couldn't have made it this far without you!  We hope you continue to follow us and watch us grow.  And we'll do our best to keep our dream alive.

Cheers to 2016!

Love,
Stephanie
