Tip Tuesday: The Rule of Thirds

I believe this comes naturally to some.  You may already compose your photos following the rule of thirds and not even realize it.  Instead of centering your subject, you offset your focus to one side or the other.

The rule of thirds follows the ancient Fibonacci's Ratio, which occurs in nature and is pleasing to the eye.  It's quite complicated and mathematical.  To simplify the idea, when taking a photo, while looking through your view finder, divide the frame into thirds, now set your subject to one side, and you've got it!  This also incorporates the artistic rule of negative space.  The negative space is as important as the space filled with the subject.

Look through your photos and see if you've been following the rule of thirds.
