My First Time

Everyday we can experience a "first" but some "firsts" are more memorable than others - first kiss, first day of college, first home. I thought it would be fun to talk about my first "high end" make-up purchase and how I knew make-up was for me.

At some point in high school, I think I was a junior or senior, Stephanie and I went to San Diego with my mom on a business trip. During my mom's free time the three of us explored everything the city had to offer which included shopping!

Honestly, I don't remember the name of the mall that we ventured to but it was definitely not like the malls in Connecticut.   All I really remember was that it was an indoor/outdoor mall. Anyway, one of the stores we stopped in was MAC and this is where I purchased my first make-up palette.

This six color eyeshadow palette features Krisp, Shroom, Motif, Satin Taupe, Sketch, Carbon (left to right) and an eyeshadow brush. Unfortunately, I don't know the brush number has it has since wiped off.  But as you can tell this palette has been very well loved. I cleaned out four of the six eyeshadows as this was my eye make-up staple for days on end.  After learning how to use most of the colors, including wetting Carbon for my eyeliner, I  knew make-up was for me.

I no longer use this palette as the eyeshadows are very over their expired time but I can't part with it and I don't know if I ever will. It is fun to find it in my make-up storage and remember how my love all started.
