Tip Tuesday: Focus

Focus in photography is so important. Focus can change the whole feel of the photograph. You want to be sure the subject is in focus.

When taking portraits of people or animals, focus your camera on their eyes.  The eyes are what people will look at and if the subject's eyes are out of focus the photo won't look right.  I like to take portraits with a shallow depth of field by setting my aperture as low as my camera and lens will allow, that way I get a beautiful blur in the background. If it's too shallow and my camera's focus is on the person's nose, their eyes may be out of focus, so it's important to make sure my camera is focusing in the right spot.
