Spring Lacquers

29 May 2015

Like most Springs here in New England, it has come and gone in the blink of an eye. The days are now hot and the nights are long! But to hold onto Spring alittle longer here are some of our favorite nail polishes for the season!

Erica's Favorites
(left to right - OPI Is Mai Tai Crooked?, Orly Blue Collar, China Glaze Son of a Peach, OPI That Hula-rious)

I have been all about the bright pastels the last couple of months. While I'm usually into the more traditional pastels for Spring, the bright pastels have really been catching my eye.  On one of my earlier trips to Ulta this year, I picked up these four colors all in one shot.  I don't even know if it took me more than ten minutes to pick them all out.  I was instantly drawn to each.  And while I usually don't go for blues or bright blues, I am loving this Orly color called Blue Collar. And I don't think anybody does brights as great as China Glaze. This bright peachy color as been my all time favorite color for the season.

Stephanie's Favorites
(left to right - Essie Topless & Barefoot, Ciaté Loop the Loop, Essie Mint Candy Apple, and Essie Petal Pusher)

Unlike me, Steph has been sticking to the more traditional Spring nail colors.  She has been all about the pastels and a little Essie obsessed. But to give her credit, Essie does make some great pastel colors!  And with that Ciaté Loop the Loop, Steph went out of her comfort zone for colors. She bought this color on our last trip to Sephora.  It's such a great pale yellow color.  But just an FYI, it gives great color, you just may need to do three coats since it is on the lighter side.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed and hope this heat breaks a little for some more Spring weather! I don't know if either of us are ready for summer yet!

Happy Sunday: #MDW

24 May 2015

Happy Sunday!! And Happy Memorial Day weekend!! This weekend usually kicks off the beginning of Summer. It is also a great holiday to appreciate the brave men, women, and their families who serve our country.

I just came back from vacation.  We spent some time in southwest Virginia and Tennessee. What a beautiful part of the United States!  America truly is a wonderful country and I'm so grateful to live here.  Thank you to the men and women of the armed forces for keeping this beautiful country safe and free.

Mom's Garden

21 May 2015

To say our mother has a green thumb is an understatement.  She's always loved gardening, well for as long as I can remember.  She loves it so much, when she's done with her garden, she comes to my house to help me with mine.  That is one trait I definitely didn't inherit.

I strolled around her shaded backyard a few weeks ago and took a few snaps.

Bioderma!

16 May 2015

Bioderma Sensibio h20 has been one of my "must find" beauty items for I couldn't tell you how long. I have been on the constant hunt for a company who would ship it to the United States.  Finally, Beautylish came through and now stocks and ships it here!  I believe I actually squealed when I saw it on the Beautylish website.

Bioderma is a French skin company. They offer a variety of products including their Senisbio h20 which is micellar water. Micellar waters are used to cleanse the face and wipe away any oils, dirt and makeup without having to rinse the face after using.
This product has definitely lived up the hype. I use it nightly to wipe away my makeup and nothing has taken my eye makeup off as easily as this stuff.  Before it would take forever to try and get all the mascara off but with this stuff does its so effortlessly.  I just do two squirts on cotton rounds and rest them on my lids for a few seconds.  I lightly wipe away and like 95% of my eye makeup is gone.  Its absolutely amazing and I don't think I'm going to put living without it anytime soon!

Bioderma is a product I highly recommend for anybody to purchase.  Along with the ability to remove makeup like its nothing, it's a great product to just swipe around the face to remove any oils and grime (when you have no makeup on of course!). I purchased the set were you get the 500 ML Bioderma as well as a travel size.  The cost for the two is only $19.95.

Here is a like to purchase the Bioderma on the Beautylish website -  http://www.beautylish.com/b/bioderma
And ps. it was my first time ordering from Beautylish and I had no issues at all.  My order came quick and was awesomely packaged!  Thanks Beautylish, can't wait to order from you guys again!

The Times They Are a Changin'

14 May 2015

Some of you may have noticed that we have been very lazy when it comes to posting any new content here on LovelyUs. Both Steph and I enjoy what we do, obviously that is why we started this venture, but we weren't too sure if blogging is what we want to do especially just focusing on posting content about make-up and photography.  We started to feel very uncreative trying to come up with new ideas.

After one of our walks around Stephie's neighborhood, we both decided that THIS IS what we want to do but maybe with a little twist.  We want to do what we love in life and that's being creative.  So here is the change to LovelyUs.

We both will be focusing on what we can offer outside of the "internet" aspect of LovelyUs. Steph with her photography and me with my make-up. We still want to do photo shoots with families, couples, individuals, pets, you name it and makeup for events and such.  The thing that will be changing is the "internet" aspect of LovelyUs.  This blog is going to be more of who we are. It will still have makeup and photography posts but we are going to add some lifestyle aspects to it.

So that is the change.  Nothing drastic just us being more ourselves.  I hope you with enjoy this new change with us.  I know we are both excited about it!

Cherry Blossoms

07 May 2015

Springtime is becoming one of my favorite seasons.  Cherry blossoms may have something to do with that.  I took a walk to this tiny park near my house.  I drive by it everyday on my way home and never noticed how many cherry blossom trees it had until I was really searching for some.  Cherry blossoms are so amazing because they're only around for a short time.  You have to appreciate them while you can.
